Christchurch CathedralCTA is taking part in Neighbours Day with a stall in the Ellen Melville Hall, Freyberg Square, on 28 March from 11am – 3pm.  Visitors to our stall can learn about the issues we are engaged with, our recent submissions and activities, and our plans for this year – and take part in constructing the Christchurch Cathedral (as pictured).

Some of the other groups participating in this event are: the CBD Residents’ Advisory Group, the Friends of Symonds St Cemetery,Auckland Libraries, Generation Zero and Gardens4Health.  There will be a free sausage sizzle, a quiz with neighbourly prizes, a film of old Auckland, live music, a bouncy castle and more.  The event will occur both outside in the square and inside in the main hall.

This event is about acknowledging and celebrating the unique neighbourhood that exists in Auckland’s central city, and raising awareness and making connections between groups and residents to help build the overlaying neighbourhood fabric of the central city.  Neighbours Day itself is part of a national process of neighbourliness.  See http://neighboursday.org.nz/
