Sad loss of life and heritage in Kaikoura earthquake

As a result of the intense earthquake in Kaikoura on Sunday night 13 November, one of the owners of The Elms Homestead was killed when the  historic concrete house collapsed.

Two others were rescued from the devastated building. This is a sad loss for the owners and their families, and the collapse of the Category 2 Heritage NZ listed building is also a tragedy.
