Talks

Seminars are an important education area for Civic Trust Auckland, which has enjoyed a rich history in this field since its inception.

Seminar subjects typically cover these fields:

  • Architecture
  • Building Heritage
  • General planning
  • Heritage planning
  • Locality Heritage
  • Maori Heritage
From these disciplines:
  • Archaeology
  • Architecture
  • Geography
  • Geology
  • History
  • Planning
Subjects are not limited to those above and presenters from many other walks of life would be welcome at future seminars.

From the early 1990's most professional institutes have required their practitioners to accumulate CPD points (continuing professional development), resulting in heavy work loads and severe constraints on time.

Civic Trust Auckland is aware of the problem, but for its members, the rapid increase in quality seminars with public participation has been a boon. Civic Trust Auckland members can keep abreast of forthcoming seminars and other educational activities from this site. Note the various Heritage weeks, Matarangi events, University adult learning courses, activities at various museums and a host of other events to fill any calendar.

Within this busy schedule Civic Trust Auckland managed to fit a seminar organised by Jan Crawford into late 2005.
