The Adaptation Gap is growing wider as we fail to implement the recommendations of the 2022 National Adaptation Plan. There is limited evidence that our attempts to implement the Plan are driving adaptation to climate change at the scale or pace needed.

The Plan identified a number of critical Risks and Knowledge Gaps and Rob will cover the journey we are on nationally to address the priority climate-related risks and what are the enablers and barriers to pre-emptively reduce the adaptation gap to make life less risky.

Rob Bell, formerly of NIWA, has been involved for 44 years in diverse areas of research and consultancy on climate-change impacts, risk and adaptation, coastal engineering, natural hazards, risk assessment and coastal/shelf physical oceanography.

In conjunction with Auckland Environment Climate and Policy Branch.

This event will be held both ‘in person’ and ‘live streamed’ on Zoom. When you register you will be sent a Zoom link.
