A free family festival day will be held at Nathan Homestead with live entertainment, food and market stalls, with plenty of activities for the whole family.
Nathan Homestead is re-opening its doors on Monday 13 October, welcoming the community back after a major restoration led by Auckland Council and Manurewa Local Board. The much-loved heritage site has been carefully preserved, with new improvements making it safer and more accessible for everyone to enjoy.
The new café will open alongside the restored homestead, timed to coincide with the home’s 100th year anniversary in November.
Nathan Homestead has been part of the Manurewa story for more than a century. First built in 1910 as the Nathan family’s summer home, it was rebuilt in 1925 after a fire and later gifted to the community in 1961. Since then, it’s been everything from council offices to a cultural hub, and today it continues to be a place where history and community come together.
