Event details
- Wednesday | November 4, 2020 to Sunday | November 8, 2020
- All Day
The inaugural Our Zero Waste World Summit aims to connect the international zero waste community, build our collective knowledge and celebrate the stories and people that make this space dynamic and innovative.
There are three themes as a broad framework for the event: Zero waste people and culture; Practical zero waste, and; Design for zero waste. The aim with these themes is to provide a guide to the content and a structure for how they will be delivered over the five days of this free digital event.
The summit will address the multidisciplinary nature of zero waste work. There are many aspects to the concept of zero waste including as an aspirational social, political and economic goal, as a design philosophy, and as a set of practices. The journey towards a zero waste world requires system-wide shifts, so diverse perspectives, experiences and knowledge are invaluable in seeking to understand the challenges and the opportunities this creates. Academics, planners, builders, community organisers, researchers, designers, educators and policy makers all have a part to play and a story to tell. We’re hopeful that the event will attract a substantial number of contributions from participants with different lived experiences and from different locations around the world.
