International speakers are:

Hans-Otto Pörtner
Co-laureate of the 2023 Planetary Health Award; former co-chair of IPCC Working Group II, Germany. one of the world’s best-known experts on the effects of climate change on marine life and beyond. He is an elected member of the European Academy of Sciences and was appointed by the German government to its Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) in 2020.

Steve Eayrs
Director, Smart Fishing Consulting & Extension Officer (QLD), Fisheries Research and Development Corporation, Australia. Steve is an ex-commercial fisher and fishing technologist with over 40 years’ involvement in the commercial fishing industry. He is a technical partner with Terra Moana, and recently completed a survey of trawl fishers working for Moana New Zealand, documenting their efforts to reduce seabed contact.

Rob Law
Senior Manager for Energy Transition, WWF-Australia, coordinating the Renewables Nation campaign, which seeks to ensure a fast, best and just transition to 100% renewable energy in Australia by 2050. He has over 20 years’ experience working on climate, environmental and energy projects, and undertaking advocacy and communication, for not for profits, state and local governments and universities.
