2025 AGM

CTA’s AGM for 2025 was held on Sunday 16 November from 3pm in the Jubilee Building, Parnell, the former Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind Main Building, now housing the Parnell Library and community facilities. This building dates from 1909 and was designed by Edward Bartley. In addition to its aesthetic and architectural significance – being an important example of the red brick Gothic Revival style of architecture associated with educational buildings at that time – the building is important for reflecting what were seen as progressive approaches to care of the blind at the time.

The agenda for the meeting included the president’s annual report (subsequent to the meeting to be emailed to those on the CTA database), the election of six members to the Board, including new member Martin Law, and an acknowledgement of retiring Board member Margaret Barriball. Attendees then heard a presentation from Allan Matson about recent changes to heritage and character protection.
