Submissions on Council’s Annual Plan 26/27

On 23 March, Civic Trust Auckland presented some of the points we will be making in our written submission on Auckland Council’s Annual Plan 2026/2027 to Auckland Council’s Budget and Performance Committee. CTA is one of Council’s regional stakeholders, and, as such, we had been invited to present to the committee.

What we spoke about included the following:

  •         High Street doesn’t need $25 million spent on it
  •         The Tūpuna Maunga Authority should reconsider removing exotic trees from the maunga
  •         Council should get on with making Hobson and Nelson Streets two-way (transformational move no. 2 from the City Centre Master Plan)
  •         Council could appoint a Public Transport Champion to promote the use of buses, trains and ferries.

Everyone is encouraged to have their say on the Annual Plan. The deadline is 11:59pm on Sunday 29 March.
