In Heritage NZ’s quarterly magazine Autumn 2019 issue, an article by Chris van Ryn entitled “Under Pressure”, details the housing issues affecting heritage in Auckland.
Chris asks the question “As Auckland feels the pain of its housing crisis, how is the city’s heritage faring?”
He interviews a wide range of people on the subject, including Noel Reardon, Heritage Manager for Auckland Council; Bill McKay, Senior Lecturer at Auckland University’s School of Architecture; Stephen Selwood, Chief Executive of Infrastructure NZ; Robin Byron, Senior Conservation Architect at Heritage NZ; and our own Civic Trust President, heritage architect Allan Matson; and Sally Hughes, spokesperson for the Character Coalition.
