Civic Trust Auckland invited students of school age to photograph heritage items or activities related to this year’s Auckland Heritage Festival theme: “Journeys – the stories of how our people travelled to Tāmaki Makaurau by sea, by air or by land, to create a shared future together.”
Judges of the competition were:
- Robin Byron, Heritage Advisor Architecture, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Northern Regional Office
- Allan Matson, President, Civic Trust Auckland
- Chris van Ryn, Director, Freestyle Event Photography.
The prizes were presented at the Civic Trust Auckland AGM on 24 November at Kinder House, Parnell.
The winner of the 15 years and over section was Gary Qin, with his entry titled “On Foot”
Nathanael Senn was the winner of the section for older than 10 and younger than 15 years, with his entry titled “Hopeful Pawns”
Jonte Senn, Nathanael’s brother, won the section for up to 10 years, with his entry titled “Sunny Sails”
