Ten years on, the demolition of Coolangatta, 464 Remuera Rd, is still remembered as a senseless act of destruction.

The much admired Noel Bamford designed Arts and Crafts home in the Auckland suburb of Remuera was destroyed in just 18 minutes, complete with furniture and family effects.

This video, which has just become available, records this devastating example of architectural vandalism.
