CTA’s event in the Auckland Heritage Festival is a tour of the St James Theatre, led by president Allan Matson. The event has been fully booked (two groups of 30 people) since 1 September, and as of today, 95 people have expressed interest in the tour. Those who have missed out on 24 September are on a list for a future tour, which it is hoped will take place later this year.

One of the participants who will have a look around the theatre on the 24th is a former ice cream boy who served there, and another is a Master of Architecture student doing a thesis about Auckland’s urban regeneration. Someone else stated that she has “many fond memories of this building and would love to find out what’s planned.”
