Auckland Council’s Emergency Budget

CTA’s submission on the Emergency Budget 2020/2021 consultation was one of 34,900 – the highest number of submissions received on a consultation since the council’s formation in 2010.

The feedback will be reported back to the council’s Finance and Performance Committee on 8 July. Decisions will be made on 16 July and a budget for 2020/2021 will be formally adopted by the Governing Body on 30 July 2020.

Details of the decision and a breakdown of the feedback received will be publicly available from the end of August.

The Emergency Budget responds to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on Auckland Council’s finances. It estimates a huge drop in revenue in the coming financial year, with operating cash income across the council group projected to be around $525 million less than previously budgeted.
