- We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the new coalition government’s approach to transport, which fails to recognise the crucial contribution trains, buses, ferries, walking and cycling make to maintaining and improving the efficiency, value and speed of travel for all New Zealanders.
We urge the government to revise its draft 2024 Government Policy Statement on Land Transport (GPS 2024) to:
- Show clear support for public transport
- Improve accessibility
- A sustainable rail network
