Construction work on the Leys is anticipated to commence in October. 

The assessment of the Engineering Plan Approval application has been completed, with the approval decision letter was issued on 19 June, and building consent granted on 2 July. With construction tenders closing on 26 June, tender evaluation is underway, with the preferred contractor(s) expected to be identified next week.

Tender negation will be followed with the preferred contractor(s), with an estimated duration of two months. Contract award remains targeted for September, subject to the negotiation with the preferred contractor(s) successfully completed within the specified timeframe and subject to price being within the confirmed project funding envelope.
