Plan Change 7 to the Unitary Plan has seen the addition of over 40 buildings to the Heritage Schedule.

St David’s Memorial Church in Khyber Pass has been scheduled as a Category A building. This is a gratifying result, after several years of sustained community pressure, and over 300 submissions to the hearings process. Congratulations to Friends of St David’s Trust, and Paul Baragwanath, in particular, for leading the campaign.

The remaining buildings have all been scheduled Category B. They include school and commercial buildings, and several notable residences.

Two historic heritage areas have been scheduled – Pt Chevalier Shops and Winstone Model Homes in Balmoral. 

Unfortunately Civic Trust’s submission of additional buildings to be included in the Plan Change was ruled out of scope.
