Civic Trust Auckland’s winter lecture on the theme of Castles will be held on Sunday 30 August from 3pm at Kinder House, 2 Ayr St, Parnell.

Edward Bennett, architectural designer and historian, will present an illustrated talk on castle architecture in Auckland, including such buildings as Firth’s Castle, Fort Takapuna, the High Court, Bishop’s Palace, Algie’s Castle and the historic Mt Eden Prison For many years, Edward has been giving lectures and tours based on historical architecture and events.

All members are welcome to attend, as well as friends and family. You can stay afterwards for a cup of tea and a chat.
