A very enjoyable time was had by a small group of CTA members at the home of Martin Law, “Painter of Paradise,” in Mt Eden.
Martin’s works have featured as an event in the Auckland Heritage Festival, and, on the afternoon of Saturday 15 June, he made us welcome to view not only his paintings of New Zealand buildings, but his early design work and sketches, displayed on the walls of several rooms in his house.
Martin worked for many years as an architectural perspective artist and for the last 10 years has been painting New Zealand scenes.
He spoke enthusiastically about his work and generously answered our many questions.
We also enjoyed an afternoon tea together and had the chance to catch up with old friends and meet a few new people.
